Concern about  environmental quality in the community has grown over the years as people have become more aware of the impact of their daily lives on their natural surroundings.   Quietly, behind the scenes, a corps of citizen volunteers is making progress through the Texas Master Naturalist a little-known program being conducted state-wide through a partnership between the Texas Parks Wildlife Department TPWD) and Texas Cooperative Extension (TCE).  Texas Master Naturalists are ordinary citizens committed to the conservation, protection, and restoration of our natural resources through volunteer service and educational outreach.
